The picture I'm choosing is the one with the woman with the tatoo. When I look at this picture, I see strength. I may be wrong, but it appears she may have had breast cancer. However, instead of getting an implant to reconstruct her breast, she got a tatoo in its place. The tatoo is a beautiful red flower with green leaves and other pink and purple flowers sprouting from it. I think the tatoo really symbolizes being comfortable with being who you are, and in your own skin.

I chose the picture with the talking rocks. I see them unzipping their mouths to gossip and smile at each other and their fellow pretty lady rocks across the lawn. They are cheeky and devilish little things which enjoy yelling at people strolling around the park. In their spare time they include themselves in people's conversations, thus making oncoming people look wildly around for the voice they thought they had heard.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to describe the photo of the teeth and jaws laced in a rocky, but smooth textured cover. Each color on all three objects is different, the one on the left is dark gray, the middle is the lightest, and the right is medium. The teeth are exposed from the zippers being unzipped and appear to be mostly healthy and don't have plaque build-up.
ReplyDeleteThe picture of the women with the tattoo is such an amazingly powerful image. While we do not know much about this beautifully scarred woman, we assume that she had breast cancer, we do know that she is strong. No matter what the cause, losing a breast can be an extremely traumatic experience. This woman has been stripped of what makes her a woman. The very core of her femininity. I applaud her choice to get the tattoo! She could have opted for reconstructive surgery, something that wouldn’t even leave a scar, something that would make her whole again. But this powerful woman decided to honor her fight. She decorated her scar with something of beauty. She chose a beautiful red flower, something that signifies life, love, and growth. It shows that she is not ashamed of this awful experience, while many others would be.
ReplyDeleteHowever there is another side to this picture. An ugly side. Her face is turned away from the camera. While she agreed to have her photograph taken it is almost as if she is ashamed to have her face in the shot. I think that this is very interesting! Maybe a sign of weakness behind a façade of strength.
The top picture is one that I am sure many people skipped over because they wanted to be unique, and lately who wants to hear about politics. At first I did think that President Obama looked like he was going to sneeze. Yet after looking carefully I will honestly say it took me a while to see Denzel Washington's face amongst one of the most famous faces of the last election. I think this is an accurate depiction of exactly what is going on in so many of the young peoples minds, this is someone we all can look up to to take care of us as well as someone who is easy on the eyes. President Barak Obama is probably one of the hottest presidents we have had so far and so it's easy to see why they would put his face with another man people look up to and is known for his magnificent handsome features. This makes people start to ponder that the phrase looks aren't everything is sadly untrue, and just maybe people are tired of seeing our presidents look like the newest resident at the old peoples home. It is a nice new change to have someone who seems like he wont be suffering from Alzheimer's anytime soon and well remember why he decided to change certain bills and laws. This new President will be widely known for his stunning face and the confidence it shows behind it. Not to mention his beautiful family that he has to support him throughout his time as our president. Lastly I'd like to point out I never realized how odd Denzel Washingtons ear is.
ReplyDeleteThere are three rocks, one charcoal color, one ash, and one light grey. They are smooth, oval, and turned to the right. They have a zipper stitched into the rock exposing they're slightly yellow teeth. The zipper is bronze and gold and almost touching the tooth's pink gums. The rocks are sitting on something wood maybe under a shaded area. And they are smiling, laughing, talking. -Jenny Jones
ReplyDeleteThe photograph shows a digitally manipulated image that combines the faces of new President Barack Obama and actor Denzel Washington. The faces of the men are seamlessly intertwined, with their features blending in the middle. The left side of the face is Denzel, where the right is Barack. Denzel’s side of the image has a slightly darker skin tone, along with a higher arching eyebrow. There is also a contrast around the mouth, as it appears the actor had not shaved in a day or so, leaving a 5 o’clock shadow that becomes more noticeable when compared to the clean shaven look shown on the right side of the image. The original images appear to have had similar expressions on the mouth, as the two sides meet to for a completely normal looking, slightly open, half-smirk. The right side of the figure’s face has a slightly lighter complexion, and shows a few more age lines in the cheeks. The one area that does not blend so well is the hairline. Despite a consistent length between the two figures, Obama’s hairline features sharper angles on the temple and comes higher up the forehead, and when following the hairline from right to left there is a distinct drop in the center where the two original images meet. The figure’s ears seem to be taken from the same source image, and from the size and color the best guess is that they are both from Obama. The figure is shown from mid chest, with single body wearing a dark suit with a white shirt and blue striped tie. The body is likely Obama’s, but it is not certain. The final blended figure is shown atop a flat blue of a slightly dark hue.

ReplyDeleteThere is a picture of three unusual rocks, all with opened zippers running horizontally through the middle. These opened zippers uncover human teeth and the rocks seem to be smiling. Each rock is a different shade of gray, and they are sitting on a table with a white background behind them.

The rocks resemble that of an unfortunate crater-faced human being. The disfigured trio has zippers around the their circumference anatomy, allowing their no-need-for-braces smile to be revealed. This picture almost resembles the mouth of Marcus Thompson the II, one that never closes unless you can find a plastic surgeon demented enough to implant a zipper. The rock's show humor in their grins as if they just burned some trees and are blitz out their lava made skulls. After interviewing them the only conclusion is that these guys "just want to rock."
ReplyDelete--“Teachers who inspire realize there will always be rocks in the road ahead of us. They will be stumbling blocks or stepping stones; it all depends on how we use them.”-- Thanks Marcus!...you know that comment was a joke ;D

Perk long gone, her areola engulfed in a carnation of colorful vines and flowers, exposed by her failed attempt to successfully master the art of an ancient toga wrap. Her Caucasian skin expresses a touch of sun with small freckles randomly spread across her upper body where once youthful breasts once roamed. Our mystery lady's facial expression is one of complete humility, oblivious to the unnecessary show of skin. She stands exposed with the shower curtain as her background, as if to show off her newly inked center piece of prehistoric plantations. Naked, as her aged skin and features out for all to see.

A picture says a thousand words and this one is no exception, trust me. But before I get ghetto, let's cover the superficial physical description first. This is a picture that shows a clever melding of the faces of Barrack Obama and Denzel Washington, split right down the middle, on one man's body. They are sharing the same neck and suit and tie. Wow, the picture really demonstrates how much these two men do in fact physically resemble one another -- everything aligns remarkably well --their eyes, their mouths, their noses, their facial shapes, even their ears to some degree (but how did Denzel end up with Michael Jackson's ear?) Yep, Obama and Denzel Washington do indeed resemble one another, even in their appeal -- no doubt -- and it ain't even a case of "all black men look alike" (though I don't doubt for a New York second that the average white person at first glance might think this is simply a picture of Denzel. But it's okay this time. They DO look alike. You're safe.)Okay, so they look alike, so what? So this...
ReplyDeleteI voted for Obama - and I can honestly say it had absolutely nothing to do with what he looked like. I chose him because from the get go I liked his character. I liked what he had to say. I could see compassion and a trusting quality in his eyes...a quiet, respectful, thoughtful intelligence that we haven't seen in a president for some time. I wanted somebody like him, with his cool and calm and caring and current persona to represent our country. I was tired of being hated by other countries because of the idiot we've had at the helm for the last 8 years. I could give a rat's ass what color the new guy was. If a white man would have conveyed these same qualities, he'd have my vote. But that's me. This picture says a lot about America (not everybody, just generally speaking). Obama has that Denzel Washington appeal -- ya know, Denzel Washington, a black man white people can like. He's a GOOD LOOKING black guy who's cool and has style. And he doesn't act showy about it either -- he's kind of humble...and it's appealing; and he's light-skinned -- that's a definite plus -- he's not too black. What if Obama looked like Shaq or Mike Tyson? Could he have been elected? Ha! Elected? More like rejected. Let's face it. Some people were willing to vote for my Obama based on how he looked. I don't doubt they liked what they heard as well, but surely it helped that little old white lady in Peoria to mark the ballot for Obama when she pictured Denzel Washington in office as opposed to, say, Michael Sphinx.
But you know what? America has other issues. It may not even totally be a black issue when you think about it. America is fucking obsessed with beauty. I've been around long enough to have seen society get prettier and prettier. Remember when you didn't have to look like a super model to be a noted musical talent? Aretha Franklin, Mama Cass, Carol King, Patti LaBelle - not the prettiest girls in the bunch but mega talented. Shit, even tennis players today are hot hunks with rippling muscles and sexy tarts with perfect bodies -- what the hell happened to Martina Navritolova and John McEnroe? They were butt ugly but we were happy to root for them. But then again, a good deal of people didn't have a problem supporting McCann, with his troll like behavior, his stooped over stumbling gait, shifty eyes, liver spots and bad teeth. MMM. Of course, he's white. Maybe the rules don't apply as strictly. I don't know. I don't pretend to always know what America is thinking. She is a little schizophrenic.
What I do know is this. The "Dream" is SOMEWHAT realized as a result of this election. I love Obama and yes, he is Denzel Washington-ish but I know he's going to do a wonderful job and the fact that he is the first (half) African American president is awesome and shows great progress. But in order for America to really be proud of herself, she has got to get over her other prejudices. She still has hang ups. She's still such a superficial bitch. Let me put it this way, when America elects a highly educated, beautifully spiritual, wonderfully spoken, big fat bad dressing American Indian guy with jacked up teeth for president, I'll apologize for the tongue lashing.

Three rocks sitting side by side watching passersby and taking in the day as it stretches on and on. These three seem to be either close friends or closely related because they are smiling through their large half moon months. The lips are made of copper zippers so if the rocks talk to much they can tell each other to "zip it" closed aka "shut up" almost exactly like people do. The teeth, brightly flashing, are an off white color and are in desperate need of a dentist visit for cleaning. Each rock displays a different color, maybe to have each appear as a different race and showing we can all be united. don't forget to sit down with your friends, like the rocks, and just take in the day.

Rocks are common, ordinary objects that people see almost everyday. You can kick them, throw them, drive over them and watch as they crack your windshield or just ignore them. But imagine if the rock had teeth. I doubt people would just look past them as inanimate objects. Imagine an oval rock, grainy and rough but in the middle lay a zipper that runs across opening a bright, straight toothed smile, almost sort of chuckling. A smile that looked like it could run a mile long. Wouldn't that be peculiar? It is said that a smile is contagious. Envision a long stroll with thousands of different shaped rocks littering the ground around you: round, rectangle, oval, small, big, boulders, all smiling back at you. Now, I bet you'd be smiling for days. But what if someone went around and zipped up all the zippers of every rock, closing the smiles and returning it back to the ordinary. Would they then be normal rocks that we kick, throw and ignore?

Three rocks sit side by side. They are shaped like oversized eggs and have zippers for mouths and large white teeth. No eyes or noses, their mouths are their only features. The rocks look old in age due to the groves and marks on their once smooth surface. They look as if one had just told a silly joke and all are laughing. They remind me of old people who sit on their porches to enjoy each other’s company, telling stories and reflecting on life. They seem friendly and content with themselves, waiting for one to stop talking so the other can start.

The first picture is a creative representation of of how the most Americans view our new President. The superimposing of half of Denzel Washington's face over the picture of President Barack Obama strikes one as a bit odd at first. In all honesty, I was scrolling quickly through the pictures looking for one to write about and it wasn't until I passed the rocks with unusually white teeth that I realized that there was something odd about our new President.
ReplyDeleteThe similar hairstyles threw me off at first, but upon closer inspection the hairlines are off, Obama's being slightly more receded. The President's eyebrows are fuller and parallel to his eyes, as opposed to Washington's which arch towards the end. On the eye level, they are quite similar(although he does look a bit cockeyed), but that could be due to the contrast between the noses, Denzel having a slightly more bulbous one compared to Obama's. The five o'clock shadow, that couple days worth of growth upon Denzel's cheeks seems to drift over lazily until it is stopped by the clean shaven cheeks of Obama, giving us a sense of where the faces cease to fuse and become distinct.
Once we pass the photoshop skill, the message of the picture becomes clear. Our new President, in his own right, is a celebrity, making him easily identifiable to the A-list actors in Hollywood.

-The singing Trio-
ReplyDeleteLooks like a singing trio of rocks. They looked like deformed dino eggs. One was tall and thin, the middle one was short and stout, while the far right one was tall and rock built, he had a Rocky/Rambo sort of buff body type. They had the color of common rocks, but they were not so common. Their rocky smooth skin had the color of wool and unpolished granit. The uncommonness about them was all in their smile. As they smiled they flashed their pearly whites bordered by their zipper track lips, These three characters seem like they could keep a secret or two. AS they moved the zipper fly flapped around like an earing dangling from a womens ear. their best and most unique quality was all in their straight teeth, for they had no eyes, nor ears, nor hair, not even a nose. The trio rocks just woobled and bounce from place to place I would asume for they also had no limbs. Even though they lacked the limbs they were quite a wonderful and joyful sight.

I am choosing to write on the image of a man who resembles that of both president Barack Obama as well as oscar award winner, Denzel Washington. The man appears to be of african american decent and in his early 40's. He has black, semi curly hair. On the left half side of his face, the skin appears to be a darker shade than the right side and resembles that of Denzel WAshington. The eyelid is drooped a little and there is some scruffiness on the face. On the right half side of the face, the skin appears to be a lighter shade than the left and resembles that of Barack Obama. The eyebrow is thicker in texture and the face is clean shaven. There is also a small pimple located on the nostril as well as some creases in the skin near the jawbone and upper portion of the head. The man in the picture is wearing a white dress shirt with a striped tie underneath a black suit. There is also a light blue background behind the man in the photo.

Three granite rocks sitting coldly among themselves with fiendish smiles. Each has a warm grin with sharp zippers for lips and it's almost like they're cheesin' for a photo. They aren't the most symmetrical of rock's and probably got made fun of at school for being so wonky and rough.

ReplyDeleteStrength and courage embrace the flowers on her once full breast. The rose adornes her as a symbol of the future, her hope for her life to be filled with new adventures and more time to enjoy them. She now longer dreads the once a year mammogram, she no longer dreads the months of chemotherapy and radiation, the months hanging over the toliet bowl, drying her hair in bed drinking sprite and eating saltine crackers. The scars left her speechless, unable to visualize herself with out them so she created a garden. A garden of hope for her to see, a garden of new beginnings, a garden to hide the scars yet remind her how lucky she is to be alive. A new start, colorful and flowery like her personality.
